On Friday, May 31, the first Allison Rose Foundation (ARF) scholarship was awarded to Independence (Ohio) High School (IHS) senior, Hannah Fleming.
ARF offered the $1,000 scholarship to inspire the legacy of Allison Suhy. In order to win this scholarship, applicants must have had at least a 2.0 GPA, participated in two or more activities at IHS, entered into a two or four-year university, and were required to complete an essay describing areas in their life where they demonstrated leadership, advocacy and overcame obstacles either in their school, social or family lives.
Hannah has been a tremendous leader at IHS through Student Council and has displayed her amazing personality in all of the school musicals. She will attend Ohio University in the Fall. We are proud to name Hannah as the inaugural recipient of the ARF scholarship and wish her the best of luck as she embarks on her next journey.
Thank you to Hannah, and to all the applicants who applied and showcased such incredible accomplishments and character.
